2405FPW Mouselag

hi,

i got myself a neat 2405FPW. unfortunately i do have mouselag now :( i dont know if you heared about mouselag but its topic in some boards regarding tft displays.

my second monitor is a 22" crt which used to be my primary display. so i have a pretty good comparison between my mouse pointer on the crt and on the 2405FPW. So when im moving my mouse on the 2405FPW it is verry washy/jerky/inaccurate... (call it as you like) you can compare it with an mousepointer in a game whith way to high graphic settings so that the mouse pointer doesnt respond "instantly". but my mousepointer lags in windows. but if i move my pointer to the crt it responds verry well, as im used to...

i read some methods for resolution like vsynch, changing parameters with powerstrip, update drivers etc... but nothing really worked.

i also read this could be result of the overdrive technology. so it wouldnt be fixable? but i also heared of people which say they dont have any mouselag with their 2405FPW.

im a bit disappointed because i didnt thought of such massive problems with modern technology... and forgive my terrible english its not my native language and im sleepy...

I can't give you a solution to your problem but I have a 2405 and never had that problem. I know it's a pain but I would call Dell.

Try going in to your video card settings, then advanced, video card tab, screen resolutions and add custom refresh rates, and make one for 100htz, then add. It will be similar if you have a ATI card. It worked with me and I have a 6800GT AGP running through DVI...I don't now why it works but it dose.

    Hope it works for you.

Did you install the monitor driver?  I had a similar problem along with inability to get true 1920x1200 without scrolling.  I searched support.dell.com for a monitor driver and found R91058.EXE which fixed the problem (but, I had to *manually* set the monitor to  "Dell 2405FPW" because the driver install did not do that, it only set it to "Plug n Play" which did not work).

thx for the tips! i will try the monitor driver and costum refreshrates (although i heared that the 2405FPW is verry picky and will only work with exactly 60hz (in its native resolution).

I have the same problem. I just received my monitor and it also has this terrible mouselag. Have you found a way to fix it?
