Need some opinions on my dilemma. I ordered an XPS 420 system and the 2707 monitor a month ago. I didn't get the DFS 4% discount because I thought it would automatically apply. I later found you have to click on credit card to basically threaten not to use DFS to get the 4%. I've been going back and forth with Dell Customer Careless for 3 weeks now trying to get the 4%. They won't budge and are paying for the shipping back instead of giving me the $108 credit. Seems crazy. Anyway, the 2707 is no longer available. I can order a new system with the 2408 for three hundred less than I paid for the first system, order a new system with the 2709 for right at the same price as the first system with the 2707. The 2707 is pretty nice. Has anybody had the 2408 and 2707 to compare? Anybody with the new 2709? If the 2707 was still available I would just reorder the exact same system and let Dell loose big time selling the return system on their outlet site.:smileytongue:
I buy a monitor as a stand alone purchase. You get a three year warranty included with the price. When you buy a monitor with a computer, you get a one year warranty, and the option to purchase years 2 and 3.
I like the 2709. You should be able to find reviews on the web, and on this forum about the 2408, and 2709.
Does anybody have the new 2709? I would like to hear how it compares to the 2707 if anybody has tried both. The 2707 has a really clear picture and the pixel size is fine. I hear there might be slightly more lag problems with the 2709. Not that I'm a gamer, however if the 2707 actually is a more sold performer I may just stick to it. Looks like there is a fair amount of problems on the 2408 from what I've been reading.
A 27" monitor or larger has it's own service tag and it get invoiced by itself with it's own warranty, even when it is ordered with a system. 24" and smaller is tagged to the system warranty.
Any input on the 2707 vs 2709? I ordered and received a system with the 2707 and have the opportunity to swap it out for the 2709 for basically the same price.
