3007WFP front panel buttons don't work

I have a second 3007WFP that has the same problem: after a few minutes the buttons (power and two brightness) refuse to work. At first they work sometimes; then, later, they either totally refuse to work or perform wrong functions: "brightness decrease" for instance, can increase the brightness or just turn the monitor off, etc.

Also, the manual, both online and the one that comes on the CD mentions that there is some way to " reset" the monitor and perform a " monitor self-check" (see " General Problems" section of the manual, on the supplied with the monitor 3007 Drivers CDROM in the folder

                  file:///:/ en/solve.htm#General Problems

Whoever wrote the manual neglected to disclose how to perform  these tasks. I am sure all of fellow 3007WFP owners would appreciate if someone from Dell would tell this to us. Moderator?

Have you found out more on this?  I too have this monitor and the same problem.  I have to disconnect the power cord to shut it off :(

I now think the issue has to do with the USB connection for the card readers.  I disconnected the USB cable and have not had any problems with the power switch since.

Is there any other purpose for the USB cable besides the card readers?  I have noticed that each time you turn the monitor on and off it would go through the USB connect / disconnect routines.

I will keep an eye on this the next few days to see how it goes.

First, I think that pull the power plug is the reset method.

Second, the USB connection is also use to control the monitor. There is a software you can install that run a service and put a new tab on your display advanced properties (3007WFP Controls) that let you change the action of the On/Off button and control the brightness of your monitor.

And I think that is the piece that sometime goes wrong and disable all your monitor controls.
