3008WFP, flashing all basic colors repeatedly

Hello,

My video editing monitor, the legendary 3008WFP flashes white, red, green and blue colors after powered on. I read on other threads that it is the power on self test by the monitor. How can I solve this problem?

    See if this helps--

    I think you should add a new monitor to your holiday list. 10 years is a good run for any computer equipment.:Wink:

    That sounds like the Burn-In mode is enabled in the internal FSM (Factory Service Mode) of this out of warranty 10 year old monitor. If you can enter the FSM, you could disable it. If not, all you can do is turn the 3008WFP off when not in use.

    * Turn the monitor off
    * Press the buttons simultaneously Menu/Plus/Power
    * Release all three buttons
    * Press the Minus button
    -or-
    * Press the buttons simultaneously Minus/Plus/Power
    * Release all three buttons
    * Press the Menu button
    * Scroll down to Burn-In and set it Off or Disabled
    ** Do not change anything else
    * Then go to Exit

    Dell cannot speak to the repair since we do not do them. We only exchange them while still under the purchased warranty period. Just replace it.
