Is My E152FPb Dead?

Well, about one month ago it all started. The screen would flash and to fix it I would have to smack it a couple of times, but now I am a the point where it doesn't even show a screen and I did try smacking it, will not work. I am trying to open it and am unsuccessful. Is it dead and can't be fixed? Or is it can be fixed without me sending it to dell?

Thanks for the future responses

A 15 inch monitor probably does not pay to repair.  Based on your description, you would probably have to pay a service depot $35 or more just to diagnose the problem, and then the repair could cost well over $100 anyway.  New monitors are fairly inexpensive these days.  Sorry, just my .02.

Electronics are never dead. Just are they worth putting time and money into. I've been fixing a lot of 15" monitors so I say its up to you. You have to be versed in electronic repair to attempt this. the repair shops may make it economically unworthwhile. I get many when people see the estimates.
If you are versed in electronics and are willing to risk getting shocked, then have at it. I'll offer advice. I do it as a hobby as I hate seeing these all going to the landfill.

I had the same problem with my E152FPb. Look at it carefully, if you look really close you can kinda see the picture it is something to do with the back light. One Way to fix it is to have some one open it up and fix it. Or you could somehow open it up and find another way to get light through the back of the screen.
