SP2008WFP, Microphone problem

Hello.

I have this monitor (SP2008WFP) for a lot of year. I got a new computer yesterday and it is still working perfectly. However, when I'm on Skype, the microphone sounds totally okay for 15 minutes, and then my voice becomes a robot-like one. I didn't have this issue on my old computer. I'm on windows 8.1, and I was on that OS as well before.

Thank you.

    My apologies that this did not receive a response until now. The SP2008WFP released for sale in 2007 only supports Windows XP/Vista. The SP2008WFP webcam application was never designed to run in Windows 7/8/8.1. What sound audio card were on the old system versus the new one? Did you open the audio sound control panels and compare them between the systems? Are the Skype versions the same?

    Hi Chris.

    As I said, both of my OS were on 8.1, so it doesn't seem to be the problem. However, is there any way to delete the webcam application without getting it re-installed automatically?

    I don't know what was my soundcard on my last computer, but it was a Dell dimension 9200.

    My current computer has ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC MAXIMUS VI HERO as the motherboard, and my driver are Realtek High Definition Audio.

    The Skype versions is the same.

    Just to make sure, my microphone works perfectly during ~30min, and then after a while, it becomes a robot sound. I disconnect the usb cable, plug it back, and it works back.

    Thank you for your help.

    You might try installing the latest Realtek audio driver.

    * Go here
    * Click "High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)"
    * Accept the notice
    * Click Next
    * Look to the right of "64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1 Driver only (Executable file)"
    * Click the Global link
    * The file will want to download. Tell it where to save the file so you can find it
    * Run the file. Follow the instructions and restart the system when done. Re-test the audio when done

    Based on these hits, this is a Skype issue. Read the last posting here.

    No idea. This is far outside the scope of what the monitor supports. You should ask on the Skype Forum.
