Hi there, I recently purchased the ST2220L monitor. It's currently connected to my laptop (XPS 15 L502x) via the HDMI ports on both devices. Both my graphics card and the cable are confirmed as being ok with HDCP, but the laptop is telling me that the display is not HDCP compatible, which rather spoils my plans to use it for games consoles and HD films alongside being a larger monitor for my laptop (it has Dell speakers plugged into it for the sound).
In the product description it listed DVI as HDCP, the clarification made sense seeing as obviously all DVI ports are not HDCP compatible. I just assumed the HDMI connection had HDCP too (why one and not the other?), particularly as it mentions connecting to gaming consoles (the latest PS3 requires HDCP to function at all over HDMI I believe) and being 'Full HD'.
Can you confirm whether or not the HDMI on this monitor is HDCP? If not, as my XPS has no DVI output, would an HDMI to DVI converter allow me to watch HDCP protected content (e.g. blu rays on my laptop) on it?
For the benefit of anyone else reading this, I don't know for sure but based on what I can find online, I believe HDMI - DVI adapters/cables *should* still let hdcp work over them, but obviously you'd have to deal with the audio separately at the sending device's end.

Only the DVI is HDCP. We have not tested a HDMI to DVI adapter.
