There has to be something "unusual" about the iMac that differs from the working MacBook Air M1. This is the second thread discussing how DDM for macOS 1.50.0.0041 works on a MacBook Pro macOS 12.1 Monterey but does not work on the iMac macOS 12.1 Monterey.
All we can suggest is that you start a thread on the Apple Forum explaining the issue to see if other iMac users can offer some insight.

Update, the DDM team has told me that DDM is not supported on iMac.
