I have a MSSQL saveset whose status is recoverable.
MSSQL:ABC 2467444843 full recoverable 000048L3 clientname 62G 8 Default 4/26/08 5:00:45 AM
I would like to restore this saveset but it is invisible from the client, thus I would like to change the browse time.
I executed
nsrmm -S 2467444843 -w 06/30/08 but i got an error message
nsrmm: Cannot exceed the browse time of a recoverable save set 2467444843. (Retention policy is
forever.)
Also I tried
nsrck -L7 -t "4/26/08 5:00:45 AM" clientname but nothing changed.
Since this is a MSSQL saveset I cannot restore it with
restore -S ssid. Please help.
enter recover menu then enter "changetime", enter new save time in the format dd/mm/yyyy add the files you want to recover with "add" command. use "recover" command to recover the files.
Obviously you can't see it as it is expired from index database. Obviously changing browse policy for such saveset doesn't make sense. You executed nsrck with -t for save time (when it begin) for time on client side - I guess index entry did not exist at that time on server so I would try different time (something within original browse policy). If it fails and you are in hurry, delete it and scan it back.
Seems like if there is a gap between browsable save sets the isolated saveset is not seen from client. Thus I restored the data by designating nsavetime.
