Hi. I'm trying to load a "foreign" tape to later run "scanner" against.
I run the following command:
nsrjb -ln -v -f /dev/nst0 -S 22
The following error results:
Error: Jukebox:i40 access:scsidev@0.0.1 failed:MOVE MEDIUM key:5 status:CHECK CONDITION Illegal Request, ADIC : media types do not match
The tape library is a Quantum Scalar i40. The tape drives are HP LTO Ultrium-5. The tape I'm trying to load is LTO3. I am running Networker 8.0.1 on 64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.9 (Tikanga). I have successfully loaded and scanned other LTO3 tapes. There are three tapes that cause this error.
I'd really appreciate any help in resolving this matter.
This error comes from library itself - not NW. You easily see this by mounting tape outside NW knowledge (for scanner it does not matter). It might be a tape with wrong label (like L2) or something similar, but for some reason i40 doesn't like it.

Another explanation could be that you are trying to load a NDMP tape although NetWorker should be able to verify the label.
To find out the real status information from the device run "msense -a 0.0.1" and get in touch with ADIC to get the output translated.
