We are running Networker 8.1.3.10 Build.611 and I have a question regarding directed recoveries. When I perform a directed recovery using the client software to restore a file I sometimes get prompted for tapes that are really old and usually in archive. Why would a directed recovery require tapes older than the last full backup? Shouldn't I only need the tapes used in the last full backup?

Can someone explain this?
