Intel X520 Dual-Port 10Gb modules incompatible

I have a problem with this network card and esxi, if there is no module insert in to the network card is the system recognized correctly the device, but when i insert a copper module in to the network card it disappears from the system and in the log i give this error :

ixgbe 0000:84:00.0: failed to load because an unsupported SFP+ or QSFP module type was detected.

i have try to upgrade the firmware di the last version, i have changed the module ( i have used unifi and gtech ) but the problem persist ..  which rj45 sfp + modules are compatible with this card ?

Thanks

    Hello,

    I'm not sure what Chris' link was but this may be what you are looking for.

    You should be able to use the Intel transceivers. https://dell.to/4eObscD

    Assistenza vm,

    Would you confirm the system it is installed in, as well as the part number for the specific card you have installed? That way I can confirm compatibility with the system and Esxi.

    Let me know.

    Would you reconfirm the system type, as there isn't a T740, are you sure it isn't an R740?

    The issue is likely due to the SFP being incompatible, as I am not aware of any supported Unifi or gtech. You can see the compatibility matrix here

    @DELL-Chris H

    Hi, I have the same problem with 7 PowerEdge R640 servers, which have Intel 10GbE 2P X520 Adapter card.

    The matrix list is not online.

    Could you please give me access to the list

    Thanks for your help

    The Intel X520 network card on ESXi, ensure you're using SFP+ modules that are compatible with Intel X520 cards. Check Intel's compatibility list or use Intel-branded modules to avoid the "unsupported module" error when using RJ45 SFP+ modules.
