I have a PowerConnect 2716 that keeps dropping the connections to whatever is connected to it randomly.  When I try to backup the servers that are connected to that switch (with ArcServe), sometimes it'll work okay, but most times, ArcServe will lose the connection with the host.

 

I have tried it in the default unmanaged mode and in the webmanaged mode. I have already switched it out for a brand new one. The firmware is updated to the latest version. I have tried different cables. I have also tried a different brand switch and tested it for a couple weeks and it worked perfectly fine. Once I put the 2716 back in, the problems came right back.

 

I was thinking that it could be the broadcast storm option, but I have disabled that on every port. What else could this be? This has been really frustrating.
