Please kindly assist me; i'm fairly new in networking...I have connection from the Data Domain 3300 to a dell switch s4048. Its an optical switch (10G - interfaces) and the Data Domain has only 1G interfaces. So i've put a 1000baseT transceiver on the switch to connect the Data Domain with an ethernet cable. The dell switchport with a connection has a Steady Orange Light and its unreachable. As part of troubleshooting, i made a direct connection to my laptop and statically put my laptop on the same subnet, it was still unreachable. Kindly assist on how to configure the switch port. Current configs :

- as a tagged port

#no ip

#switchport

#no shut

-  as an untagged port

#no ip

#portmode hybrid

-  port speed is set to 1000, and its on full duplex (these configs, matches with data domain configs) - Thanks in advance
