Dell Latitude C600 does not recognize Linksys wireless notebook adapter card
Hi, can anyone help me install my linksys card? It works fine on my other laptop, just does nothing when inserted on this one. No lights come on. I installed the utilities as directed but still nothing. Under Device manager, it is not listed. What can I do?
THanks, but remember I said there is nothing in the device manager. It is as though I never installed anything. THat is under the PCMCIA adapters or the Network Adapters.
Hi, I had the same problem with the Linksys WPC54G on my D600. It just wasn't compatible. After struggling for a couple of days, I returned it to the store and purchased the Dell 1450 wireless card ($49) which replaced the internal Intel PRO wireless card. I am a total novice, but it was easy to swap the cards (door marked "C" on the bottom of the D600). My wireless connectivity has been working fine (Linksys WRT54G router and Linksys Print Server). I'm not familiar with the Latitude C-600, but you should check into which internal card will work and consider junking the Linksys adapter.
Maybe I missed something. When you said to install the drivers from the Device Manager - how do I do that?
Right click the device within Device Manager and one of the options is to "Update Driver". Go thur the wizard and navigate to the place where you downloaded/extracted the driver.
