Ethernet ot USB for DSL?

I upgraded to DSL and I was wondering, if it is better to connect the DSL modem via Ethernet or USB? I tried both and did not see any difference in speed, but is there maybe a difference in how the resources are being (efficiently) used? Any advise? Thank you.

General concensus seems to be that ethernet is more robust and uses less resouces.

USB1.1 being at 12Mbps for devices requiring high bandwidth and 1.5Mbps for other devices and your DSL connection most likely at 1.5Mbps down and 128 to 384K up. You would not notice much difference using either one. Ethernet while yes more robust does not neccisarily use less resources, but it is more reliable.  Use the ethernet and save your USB ports for USB devices.
