Inspiron 8100

Hi there,

might be a really silly question!

Read a lot about how to configure an Inspiron 8100
for wireless LAN. Could use the miniPCI or a
PC Card as far as I understood.
My trouble is: Everybody talks about PC card,
but I think there a two version, the 16bit (often
called PCMCIA) and the 32bit (often referred to as Cardbus).
Could anybody tell me what controller is in the
Inspiron 8100 (16/32 bit), hence what would be the
way to go. My system has two slot above each other,
so from the mechanics both could work, but what will be the correct solution ?

Thanks for any help, Rolf

b.t.w: anybody using it under Linux or only
Windows (XP)

The 8100 supports 32bit CardBus.  Investigate the Linux compatability of any card you are contemplating before buying - spotty support.
