intel proset/wirless

i have a problem with connecting in the evening.  in the evening about 9pm my intel proset doesn't recognize my ssid and it start searching for other connections that are probably near my home and my internet connection is lost.  How would I overcome this problem.

Some months ago I asked for help on restoring factory setting, well everything is going well but I wasn't able to restore.  How would I be able to get that program that restore back to factory settings.

thanks

Can someone tell me where the wireless adapter is located on a Inspiron 6000?

Windows see the adapter but will not install any drivers. Neither the old 9.x or the fix from Intel 10.x version.

click start and select programs and you'll find it in your program list, select intel proset/wirelss and it should appear on the right side of your taskbar.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I meant to say where is it physically installed in the Inspiron 6000.

    Hi Samron,

Sorry I've not answered this until now. The program that Dell puts on your system to reimage back to factory specs is call Dell PC Restore. If this partition has been corrupted or deleted then it will not work and there is no way to "get it back" but if you  have this partition this link will tell you how to activate it.

Now about your wireless problem in the evenings. If this problem occurs around the same time every day then it is probably an environmental issue. For example, I heard one time that a user was having trouble with his wireless about 4:00 am every day for around 30 min or so then it was back up and no more problem until 4:00 am the next day. As he began to look at what was going on at that time he found a delivery truck came by at 4:00 and delivered and was gone in 30 min. This truck used the same signal band for is radio as the user did for his wireless router and caused the interruption.

So yours may be caused by something happening at that time of the day. My thoughts are that someone in your neighborhood has a router on the same channel as you and when they get home they turn theirs on and it interferes. Try changing the channel to 1, 6, or 11 and see if that helps. You might also check out the Wireless Solutions web site for further suggestions.
