Studio XPS 1640 ControlPoint
Studio xps 1640; When I received my new laptop I thought it was superb. But due to an error when transferring my files across a fatal problem occurred and I decided to load up the factory image from the backup drive. However the image supplied is short on drivers and the Dell control point is not installed properly. The system when delivered had a full working version of the control point including connection manager, security centre, allowing me to ,manage my networks through profiles and Fast Access. However when contacting an engineer they assured me that Control Point does not work with Intel wifi, etc. I also purchased several Lattitude E5500 these work as expected including their Intel wifi cards.
I cannot find the security centre anywhere and it does not install with the download from the support website.
Can I get an original full image/disk the same as the one supplied with my new machine.
Any Ideas?

I'll give you a few options to try. Most of the newer Dell Computers have the factory image on a recovery partition and will re-install everything like the day when you first got the computer. If you have files and folders that you cannot afford to lose, then I suggest people make copies of them. This should be a normal practice.
Dell Control Point is listed under applications at Drivers & Downloads, just enter your service tag number, it it doesn't do it for you.

Ususally during a clean installation, I see issues where people cannot connect.
The Desktop/Notebook Utility needs to be installed first, then the chipset drivers. If they are NOT installed first, then the rest of the drivers will fail to install.

Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.
