I have purchased a new Dell Studio XPS computer (not yet received) that will have a 500 GB hard disk and Windows 7 premium home edition. I have my entire hard drive from my current Dell Inspiron 8600 computer (75 GB hard drive running Windows XP Professional) backed up (via Acronis True Image Home) to a Seagate 250 GB external hard drive. How best can I transfer all my data and programs to the new computer without transfering any of the Windows XP operating system?
