BIOS update failed as password is not configured
Optiplex 3050, trying to update the BIOS via Dell Command Update but it errors with..
'BIOS Update failed as password is not configured. Please configure the BIOS password in settings and retry.'
I don't want to have to configure a BIOS password on this and the other 200+ machines so how do I get around this issue?
Cheers

@jiceman hi there, this helped me out. first set a bios password. then update the dell command update software first. restart the app as admin after update. then go to settings (gear icon at top right), bios, then enter your bios password. you should now be able to update bios

There have been a great number of posts regarding this issue and it appears that a bug may be the cause. This forum thread may help clarify and there it has been reported that a fix is being worked on.
