Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard.

Question

I have a Dell Latitude X200 with Windows XP Home SP1. I am trying to create a wireless network using a Linksys Router and a Linksys Note Book Card. The router was easy to set up in my PC. When I insert the card into my laptop, on start-up, I get an error message that reads: Resource Conflict – PCI on Motherboard Bus:03, Device:00, Function:00. I have two options after I see this message, prior to seeing my desktop icons, F1 is Continue (to the desktop) and F2 is to enter Setup. I can get into my desktop via F1, however I can’t get into the setup. When I hit F2, for the setup, it never goes into the setup, then I have to restart the laptop. (Please note that this happens when the card is inserted.) When I remove the Linksys card, then boot-up, the laptop never freezes and in Device Manager under Network Adapters it gives me: 1394 Adapter (with a red X) and 3 COM 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller (3C905C-TX compatible). When I insert the Linksys card I then see all of the above PLUS: Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54GS V2 (NO red X). At this point I can use the laptop, however in about 30 seconds the laptop freezes!!! Lo and behold – when I remove the Linksys card the laptop un-freezes!!! HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM??? PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.

do you have a firewire device attached to your laptop when this occurs?

I do not have a fire wall on the laptop. I do have a firewall on my PC.
