Can a R340 boot Server 2019 from Samsung 980 Pro M.2 NVME?
when I installed the OS on the neve, it got formatted and partitioned. but it does not seem it can boot from the device. i do not see in in boot or in UEFI.
Based on what I am reading Dell has blocked this option. Can anyone confirm?
It is correct that your NVME is not supported for this Server but it could work.
The only thing that could happen we did not support 3rd party hardware with delivering assistance in troubleshooting, driver updates and firmware updates.
So the best option would be to test this with a supported configuration.
Here you could find the settings and hints for configuring your NVME Drive with our Onboard Raid Controller.
