Go to SolutionPERC H800 RAID10 limits with 2 MD1200
Hello there,
I have a PERC H800 with 512M nvram. I am trying to select in the controller BIOS a RAID10 VD of all 24 2TB drives. However it seems like I can only select 8 spans (16 disks), limiting the maximum size of my VD to 14900.00 GB. Is this a proper limitation or am I doing something incorrectly?
Thank you,
Eugene

@evilensky Consider using two drives as Hot Spares...

Hello, for those who come across this post with the same issue
As @evilensky said earlier, you're supposed to see 22 drives on RAID 10.
(see https://i.dell.com/sites/csdocuments/Shared-Content_data-Sheets_Documents/en/perc-technical-guidebook.pdf
page 9 "22-drive RAID-10 can be configured with PERC H800 in the CTRL-R BIOS utility" )
IF you don't see 22, you must have encountered some error during configuration. Take notes of that to bring it to tech support.

I found this bit in the Guide: "Creating a 22 physical disk RAID 10 VD is possible by selecting RAID 10 and populating the PD per Span field with 22."
I suppose it is not possible to use all 24 drives? Strange.
