DLT tape error
Hi all,
Recently we've had a replacement for our benchtape, because of a faulty mechanisme.
Since the replacement backups were running as wished. Now (prox. 4 months later) I get 2 errors in the event viewer:
source: bnchtape
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Tape0
and
source: aic78xx
The device, \Device\ScsiPort0, did not respond within the timeout period.
Backups aren't made as far as i can see. We're using ntbackup on a nt 40 server (SP6a).
Could this be a cleaning issue? And if so, how do i clean the unit? Just by putting in the cleaning cardrigde several times?

Now when i try to make a manual backup (using ntbackup) i get messages lijke: there's no tape in the drive after 700 somewhat MB's. Is this a hardware failure?
Pushing the eject button works after a minute or so. Then, when i put the tape back in. It recognizes the backupset. When i try to append the data with an incremental backup it just keeps looking for the 2nd backup set.
If anyone knows what's going on here, please respond.
