Upgrading 715

I got a 1.1 715 with A06 BIOS

Recently I installed 4 identical 200GB hard drives into this box. The first 2 (built in VIA IDE controller) work just fine and show up as 189GB (metric to binary GB definition conversion, I guess). The second 2 are detected correctly by Promise BIOS, however show up as 128GB drives in windows.

Any suggestions?

Should I flash Promise BIOS? Use Promise drivers? Or did DELL muck with this card and I should not use Promise's stuff?

    Nevermind.

    Upgrading to Promise's Ultra100 drivers did the trick.

    I just bought a 715N shell (without hard drives) for a second time. First time I took them seriously when they said "up to 480GB" assuming the BIOS could only address 120Gb drives maximum.

    I really would love to put in some larger drives, and was enthused to see you using 200GB drives.

    Question: Is there any real limitation to the size of the four drives if identical? Was the 480 notation just due to the size of drives at the time the 715 was new?
