Precision 7750 ram upgrade

I would like to confirm that a 2 x 32Gb SODIMM configuration is supported on the Precision 7750. This configuration is shown as an optional configuration during purchase, but it is not shown as a supported configuration in the Precision 7750 Setup and Specifications Guide. I assume the guide is incomplete, but I wanted to confirm that before ordering memory.

Assuming the guide in incomplete, it would be helpful if Dell could provide a more complete description of the supported memory configurations. Also shown as an option during purchase is a 96Gb (2 x 16Gb/2 x 32Gb) configuration, but that is not covered by the Setup and Specification Guide either.

    Here are the highest RAM configurations for this machine:

    128 GB, 4 x 32 GB, DDR4, 2933 MHz, ECC, SODIMM

    128 GB, 4 x 32 GB, DDR4, 2933 MHz, Non-ECC, SODIMM

    32 GB, 4 x 8 GB, DDR4, 3200 MHz SuperSpeed, Non-ECC, SODIMM

    If you want the absolute fastest RAM speed (3200MHz) you can only use 8GB sticks.  If you don't mind running the slightly slower 2933MHz speed you can populate it with 32GB sticks. (Do not mix ECC and Non-ECC RAM)

    Oh, I see what you are talking about.  Here is the simplest way to look at it.

    For RAM speeds 2666MHz and 2933MHz you can use any combination of RAM sticks up to 32GB each.
    2x32GB and 2x16GB will work just fine

    For the super speed option 3200MHz you can use any combination of RAM sticks up to 8GB each (Though they do list a single 16GB stick, so 2x16GB sticks should work)

    Hi! I've upgraded RAM from 2x8GB to 4x8GB but it runs at 2128MHz (2x1064MHz). Is it expected behavior for that RAM configuration to not run at 3200MHz?

    You can't use the Ram you want, it is according to the frequency (MHz).

    Attention, your model may have 4 memory slots and not two. If it has 4, usually two are under the computer, and the last two under the keyboard.

    This is according to the product ID, not the Precision 7750 part number, but the ID, because a part number can have several IDs; your ID is indicated on a label stuck on the computer.

    For what it is worth my 7750 came with the 128G (4 x 32G 2933Mhz) non ecc config and when you check the modules supplied they are actually 3200Mhz ones 

    Hynix HMAA4GS6AJR8N-XN parts which are DDR4-3200 / PC4-25600 ones. The laptop just runs them at 2933Mhz
