3000cn Ethernet Fail

Hi,

I have a 3000cn which has worked fine in USB mode for its lifetime.... I now want to wire it up to the LAN, but hit a hitch when I plug an ethernet patch-cable into it, I don't get a 'link light' on the hub and it can't acquire an IP address....

Plugging the same patch cable into my laptop gives a reliable 100baseT connection....

I'm presuming it should be a patch cable and not a crossover?

If the socket has just come disconnected from the main circuit-board, is there any way of getting at it to reconnect it?

    Hi,

At last - found somebody else with the same problem. Does anybody know if the ethernet connection was an option on these printers - although there's an RJ45 connector when connecting to router/switch there's no indication of a connection

Resolved problem by connecting printer to Belkin Network USB Hub (F5L009) - works perfectly and can connect 4 other devices ...

I got round this by setting the Ethernet connection to 10meg duplex rather than auto.
