After Dell Display Manager (v2.3.2.23) kept insisting that I upgrade to Dell Display and Peripheral Manager. I selected the update from within the DDM Update window.
DDPM appeared to install OK, but when I attempt to start it, it's stuck on "Connecting to DDPM Subagent...". I tried letting it sit for 20+ minutes, and again after rebooting, but no joy.
DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager) may fail to start if required services are disabled, the installation is incomplete, or the app conflicts with older Dell software.
Steps to Resolve
Repair DDPM First
Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, select Dell Display and Peripheral Manager, choose Repair.
Uninstall Previous Versions (if Repair fails)
Remove Dell Display Manager and Dell Peripheral Manager from Settings > Apps.
Restart the PC
Clears residual files and ensures a clean environment.

I had the same issue. Also after upgrade to DDPM 2.0.2.11 same problem still. It is annoying because I have a 49" monitor. Support keeps asking about peripherals and fw versions, but no fix has been offered.
I tried all the different solutions in this thread that I saw and none of them worked. What I determined is that DDPM was just never going to stop hanging on my system. I tried the latest version and the earliest version that Dell lets you download for DDPM and both hang the same way.
What did finally work is installing Dell Peripheral Manager instead. Go to services.msc and stop all of the dell services, then uninstall DDPM. Even uninstalling would hang for me unless I did this. Once you've done that go to the link below to download Dell Peripheral Manager, assuming that you don't need this for your displays (I needed it for the Dell Pro Webcam). This worked immediately for me, now I assume that I just need to avoid updating it. <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>
I am experiencing the same situation. No matter how many reinstalls, as admin, not as admin, the software remains stuck at "connecting to DDPM subagent". The older DDM software does not recognize the S3225QS on my Windows 10 Professional 64-bit PC either.
In my case, reinstalling DDPM did not help because corrupted Dell TechHub data remained.
Close DDPM, stop the Dell TechHub service, rename C:\ProgramData\Dell\Dell TechHub to Dell TechHub_old, then start the Dell TechHub service again. Wait 30 seconds and launch DDPM.
This immediately fixed DDPM on Windows 11 with a Dell U2422HE. The issue returned after a BIOS update, and repeating the same procedure fixed it again.
... this just keep getting better. Dell's latest updates of DCU and DDPM have made Crowdstrike very very angry. ... and we don't like it when Crowdstrike is angry!
For whatever reason, Dell seems to think it is necessary to fiddle with VSS every hour.
Crowdstrike sees the "attempt to hide a Volume Shadow Snapshot" as malicious.
Fortunately, the update deployment didn't get past the test ring. Unfortunately, seeing 100+ security alerts first thing on a Monday morning delayed my morning coffee.
... and that makes me angry. ... and you won't like me when I'm angry.
The solution, once again, is uninstall anything that has "Dell" in the name.
