I have a Dell Power Edge T100 with an on motherboard NIC that will only run at 100mbps and it should be running at 1Gb as my switch handles the 1Gb, 

Tested cable and that is fine, all other computers on network run at 1Gb

I updated the NIC drivers but that did not help

I also tried to update the BIOS but it would not install the new BIOS

Error = Device: BIOS, Application:BIOS, unable to get the system Generation

I have Bios V 1.1 and V1.4 is available. (PET100_BIOS_WIN_1.4.1)

I am running Windows server 2008

Do I have the correct BIOS file to install and is their any other way to update the BIOS on the system?

Any other thoughts as to why my NIC is not running at 1Gb?
