I have a Dell Dim. 4500. when I turn on the computer at the tower on button i just get a blinking green light and the monitor light just blinks yellow.
Sometimes when I try, it will come on so i just leave it on but turn the monitor off.
2 questions................ Could this be a power on switch problem or could it be something else? also, does it hurt to leave the computer on all the time like this?
Thank for your help

I am not at my computer at home now as it won't come on again. Also I am not real computer savay......when you say the back of the system you mean the tower or cpu correct?
I never thought to look back there for lights, when looking back there, will I see lights or will i need to look really hard for them.
I do know that the front tower light is green and the monitro light is amber (yellow) and they are both blinking when i try to turn it on and it won't turn on.
Thank you so much for the diagram. I have printed it out and will call home, (I am at work now, ha), and have someone turn it on and find out what color the lights are in the back.
Just called home, had my son turn on the computer at the tower power button, it is blinking, and he says there is no lights on at the "Diagnostic Lights" at all.
Look on the back of your machine or turn it around so your facing the back. There will be a row of four horizontal lights with the letters A,B,C,D above them. These are your diagnostic lights.
