I have an 8100 (Windows XP Home) that won't boot after 4 months of storage.  I get the "strike f1 to retry boot, f2 for setup utility" 

 

F2 shows Primary Drive 0 as Unknown Device

and Secondary Drive 0 and 1 (both cd roms) as Unknown Devices.

 

I was able to boot to floppy and reinstall the bios (xp2) and I've check the cabling (existing, I haven't replaced them) but still the problem persists.

 

I doubt that it is both cables, could the IDE controller have failed somehow?

 

Any help would be appreciated, this is my wife's computer and I need to get her off of mine;)
