no startup

last night, i accidently spilled a drink near my inspirion 1150 and i quickly cleaned everything up, some of it was spilled on the computer, and now when i try to start it up, nothing happens. Well it acts like it is going too boot up, but nothing on the screen ever comes up...its just black. I took apart the computer and cleaned underneath the keypad(where a lot the drink was, but also alot of the drink got underneath the laptop too while it was on) it didnt look like anything was wrong or dirty underneath there, but I still cleaned as much as I could as best i could(with one of those compressed air cleaners adn a damp cloth on some of the metal parts) but still it wont start and I dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP!!!

I suspect you're going to be shopping for a new notebook soon.

If you've dried everything out and it still won't start up, from what you've described, you've fried the mainboard. That part alone is most of the cost of the system ($500-700) to replace.

is the mainboard the same as the motherboard? bc i just got off with chatting from a dell technician, and he said i needed  a new motherboard. Any ideas on where to get a cheap laptop as money is tight?

actually thenext day it started right up! but it gave me this message saying that taking about my computer was prohibited...anyways i restarted it from there and now it works fine with the exception of the keyboard...but i might see if i can try and fix this with a docking station, which i wanted anyways...
