re-reformating Dimension V-350
I will be replacing my ol win98 system in a few months.
I thought I would take the oportunity in my computers declining years to try a few things
I would be more reluctant to do with a new system.
I did my very first "format C:\" It all went well. I had to use the original Dell boot disk as the one I had just freshly made did not want to work. There is as well a minor glitch or 2 that I'm still working through.
It wasn't untill after my reformat that I remembered that Dell has the "ZZtop.exe" program, and assosiated partitions on my drive. My questions are...
- Would format C: have deleted the partioned areas of my drive ?
- If I still have the original zztop.exe (but only that file) would it still be possible to revive the original
installation?
- The McCaffee VirusScan (Dell) that shiped with the PC had evolved through regular maintenance to a version 5+ is on CD only 3.1.6 , Where can I find the files that would upgrade it to where it was ?
