Quesiton about how to do ECC refreshing
hostA installed with ECC, hostB installed with SYMCLI
both connected to the same SYMETRIX array
I coud do storage allocation with either ECC or SYMCLI no problem.however from time to time, if I crate a meta or do som mapping or masking, say on SYMCLI ( on hostA), it would take a few hours for the change to be seen on ECC (on hostB). and this cause grief to collaguees that use only ECC. my questions is:
1. why this happes? is it because symapi_db.bin on ECC need to be refresh?
2. if #1 is true, is there a way for ECC to refresh it instantly? via a GUI. or is there a button that do the equivilent of symcfg -sid xxxx discover on ECC?
3. I noticed that under SDM agent polling interval , by default is 12 hours for discover_00 and Mask_Configure_00 is 6 hours. what is the performance implication what is a resonable value ?
