I want to move data from other disk. I 'd like tu use pvmove command.
I've 3 lun's to move , (3*33.72 Go) .
Someone know how long it 'll take to move 100 Go ?
if this is on HPUX .. in my personal experience .. very dangerous
Should something happen on your disks while you are pvmoving data, you'll be alone, with some of your data on a given disk and the other part on the other disk ..
In my experience, a very BAD situation
If possible (if not using striping) mirroring is ALWAYS a better choice.
Please note that I'm not trying to spread FUD on LVM .. I'm simply saying that mirroring is better and safer
if this is on HPUX ..in my personal experience ..very slow compared to using LVM mirroring. It will depend on how busy host OS is, you will see that this task will not get a lot of priory from the OS. Are you using vxfs for your file system ?
