OK First I want to say that the support personnel who is assisting me with this issue has been really good and is doing her best to help but her hands are being tied by Dell itself.

Apparently DELL got the bright idea that it wanted a custom video card for its XPS line...I am referring to the nVidia Go GeForce 7950 GTX 512M ram...BUT DELL didnt properly test its drivers for this card to work with Vista. In XP SP2 it worked fine but in Vista the Dualview does not work at all.

Ive personally tried 7 or 8 different driver versions for this video card and ALL of them fail in Dualview.

Whats up with that? Shouldnt this be one of the testing steps before releasing a driver in the first place? I've had my system for a little over 2 months now and still this issue is "being looked at" how much looking do you have to do..especially when this HAS to be a normal consideration in the development of a driver, yet this funcationality never works.

nVidia has told me that since this video card is unique to Dell that its up to Dell to develope the driver for the card.

Another example of passing the buck between two giants while the little guys are left in the middle.

This isnt only with video but even my so called Sound Card (that was SUPPOSEDLY suppose to be a creative product and ended up being a Sigmatel on board chipset with a Creative software "addon") is another example of yet another failing in the Vista complaince department.

Now Im sure that at some point Dell is going to want to sell the XPS M1710 with vista preinstalled so I am ASSUMING that a driver will eventually have to work...but I think its rediculous that its taken this long...

This is my first Dell....Ive always heard good things about Dell and being from Texas myself I wanted to support the "home" team but now Im starting to say Im a bit embarrased to associate Dell with my home state...

so far a disappointed first time dell buyer..
