Dell PC Restore

I did a PC Restore on Dim. 3000. (bought 9-23-05,Pent 4 w/HT XP Home Edit)  Everything is going well all the way to the end and "succesfull bla, bla, bla. When it starts the redoot process I can see the windows logo and the bar below moving and a little later screen goes black with a DASH BLINKING ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE and nothing else happens. Keep doing the same 5 times with the same results. What else can I do ?

Try F8 to get to the boot menu and select safe mode.  See if you can even get into windows to check your hardware.

They are great to sell you one but not to help you later.. ANY other suggg....? Tried also disconecting peripherals , conecting wired keyboard, rebotting from harddrive as told on F12  etc.  What next ? Thanks

Welcome to the Dell support machine.  Not very good at all.  Once you tell them it was a restore or a clean install they instantly think $$$.  The only other think of is check to see if you changed any settings in the BIOS since your last known good set up.  The restore may think your running in IDE, but the bios is telling it to load raid drivers or such.  Thats just an example of what could have happened.

My issue with my computer was that I could install just fine, but on the first boot I would see the windows screen with the progress bar for less than a second and pow! BSOD.  Turns out it was a driver issue that windows didnt load up.  Yours may be similar.

I agree but how that this could be . One thing I didn't say is that before this whole restoration started I did a "restore to anearlier...." and interrupted it 1/2 way. Then I inmediatelly did de Dell PC Restore.  Could this have done that to the bios and waht do you think I should do ?

You might try the PC-Restore again.  Maybe it didn't go exactly right the first time.

You said, "When it starts the redoot process I can see the windows logo and the bar below moving."  That doesn't sound right.  When the restore finishes and you reboot, you're supposed to see the Dell EULA screens.  Did that not happen?
