I am new here and I hope this message goes in the right place. There are two error messages that pop up after the desk top appears. 1. C:/window/system32/inetp60.dll and at the top it will say rundll 2. C:/windows/system32/msiefr40.dll and the same rundll at the top of the message. I ran a scan for viruses, but everything was good. Can some help me out with these message's? you can email me at hauglid@citlink.net
You might also want to check this link out as well. At least one of the files you mentioned, is part of "BrowserAid"; a recognized Adware program. There should also be an "Add/Remove programs" entry for it. Just click "Start" --> "Control Panel", then "Add/Remove programs". Then see if there is a 'Browser aid' entry, or something to that effect. Let's see if they have a resident uninstaller that can clear itself up. Be careful not to remove any Microsoft 'hot' fixes or system software.
To all who helped me fix my computer. This is a big thank you for all your advice. I now have full control of my dell and things could'nt be finer then that. I did copy and paste this info into my email for future needs. Again, Thank you so much.
Bonnie here, with a system error again. I'm not sure why I keep having problems. There has been a few people on the computer and now when I go to log on this is what comes up.
System error message says, Stop: c000021a (fatel system error) The windows logon process system process teminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x 00000000) The system has been shut down.
Would service pack 2 keep my computer from having these problems? I am on another computer to post this message. You can email me at this address
hauglid03@yahoo.com .
See if running a repair reinstallation of XP (instructions
here) allows you to boot to Windows. If so, you will need to reinstall all the Critical Updates you have installed since receiving the computer (or install SP2 which will get you nearly up to date).
If this fails, your only other option is a reinstallation of XP (see
this).
A repair reinstallation will leave your applications and data intact. A reinstallation will remove all the contents of your C:\ partition.
Okay, I have not reinstalled windows xp yet. Dell has told me that the computer has a virus and that all my information is lost and that I need to bring the computer in to retrive my business stuff. Is there any way I can do this myself, instead of taking it in and spending alot of money. There is 2 years of stuff on the computer for the business that I need.
Here is the complete error message again.
Step: c000021a {fatel system error} The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x 00000000). the system has shut down.
This error message comes up when the computer is trying to boot up. Is this a virus or not? I can't tell from the error message.
