Error message on shut down

This has been an on-going issue, and my computer shuts down without doing anything, other than sometimes clicking on End Task Now.

Everytime I shut down my Windows XP, I get the error: MMDiag.exe Application Failed to Initialize. DLL Initiation Failed. Sometimes I am required to click on end task now, and sometimes not.

Any suggestions as to why this message appears EVERY time I shut down?

Have you cleared your "Temporary Internet Files" lately? Some times the bad guys can reside there.

Yes, I have cleared all temporary files, defragmented my disk, cleaned everything up on hard drive and ran a virus check. This has been an ongoing problem for months...just annoying.

mmdiag.exe is a component of Music Match Jukebox.  Do you use this program?  If not, go to Add/Remove Programs and remove it.  If you do use, remove it and then reinstall it.

Thank you Steve. I do believe I have that program downloaded, but as far as I know...I never use it :) :)]

Will try removing it. Thank you so much.
