I for the first time tried to make a copy of a DVD Movie I had in my Video library ! I was going to burn a copy from my DVD-ROM to my DVD+-RW ,however the DVD Movie reported that it was write protected and I could not record a copy of it ? I thought the law was the if you where owner of said DVD you could legally make one copy for back up in case something was to happen to the originial or does this law only for Music CD ROMS ? I was trying to burn from DVD to DVD writer ,even though I've been told you get better quality if you record to your H.D. then burn it onto your DVD ? Iam a newbie to recording DVD's as you can tell ,I have made many CD-ROM copies with great results .Any information reguarding this subject greatly appreciated !
                                                                                       Thank You Gumba Nick

P.S. FYI> Using Roxio MY DVD Plus software !

Roxio will not allow you to copy "copy protected" DVD's.  Making a copy for personal use can be construed either way (legal or illegal) - just depends on who is interpreting the laws.

You will need a different program to do that, look at other places on the web.
