How do I get Disk 2?
System scan shows that there are corrupt XP files. System asks for me to insert Windows XP disk 2. I have XP on a single disk but if I insert that, it is rejected, and I am again asked for disk 2. I do not have a disk 2. Was told at microsoft forum that if it is not asking for SP2 (it is not.), then Disk 2 would be an OEM disk. Have been trying to search Dell's site for some information on how to obtain a disk 2 or if something can be downloaded. Either I missed it or nothing here. Can someone please help? THanks.

Oops. Sorry for typo. Here it is again. Hi Fireberd. Thanks for reply. My Inspiron came with XP Media Center Edition preinstalled - no disks. The XP Disk I have is XP Professional that I installed on another machine. Do you think that I will be able to do what you suggest without any problems? Thanks125

No, you will need the Media Center Edition CD (and it's only 1 CD I have one that came with my E510 desktop last October). If you didn't get one, check the Dell FAQ on ordering CD's at the top of this section.

Hi Fireberd. THanks again. But But But. I seem to be in Dell neverland. My system is out of warrantee and I do not have an order number. Everyplace I navigate to requires one or the other. I would expect that there would be a place where I could buy a replacement CD. I have the serial number for XP on the bottom of the laptop. It seems bizarre to me that I can't just buy the disk I need. Suggestions as always are welcome.125
