jv16 powertools, reg cleaner
Someone help me out here, im running the reg cleaner in jv16 powertools , around 600 reg keys im trying to remove. There all selected and once I push the remove button im getting a "working please wait" blue status bar and nothing ever happens, I even walked away had dinner and an hour later nothing happened and still getting the working please wait blue status bar
I use jv16 sparingly, I'd rather edit the registry manually.
The one thing I don't do is allow automatic cleaning. When in doubt about what to delete, I leave the entry alone until I find out what it is.
Deleting from the registry is instant, the effects are immediate. The deleted files are not stored in the recycle bin, they are gone. The only way to recover from a blunder is to restore your registry, or part of, to a prior date or restore the backup. Check the settings for saving a backup. Make sure it is set to " make one backup ".
Open jv16 and go to options-registry cleanup-backups and check "create only one backup".
Tread with caution.
- Well I found my problem with the freeze up and it has been addressed in the old jv16 forums and was suprised its happening in the new version also. The freeze up happens once in a while with others. Theres a work around to it. Waiting now until I get a response from my e-mail.....
