Long time to switch users/log on

I have two users on my Dimension 3000.  Over time, it has started to hang for up to a minute when I first log on or when we change identities.  Occasionally I just get the mouse cursor and wallpaper so I have to reboot.  I know that there's a tool/program somewhere to fix this - anyone know it?

    Greetings to London.
1.Try installing User Profile Hive Cleanup Service, free from Microsoft, here:

    2. Delete all .tmp files
    3. Clear browser cache
    4. Start>run chkdsk c: /f (and follow prompts)
    5. Defrag hard drive
    6. How much free space is left on HD?

Thanks Ron, that did the trick.
I see in Event Viewer (via Control Panel etc.) that there were several registry entries that were hanging around after logoff.  This program closed them all down.

    Glad that solved the problem.
