Now I have two OS after re-format

I decided to re-format my hard drive by restoring from the Dell recovery CD figuring it would re-format the C drive and I would have a fresh OS to make the machine operate better.  It acted like there was a partition so I thought I deleted it when I reformatted, but now when the machine boots up I have to pick one of the two same XP operating systems.  I don't see two OS's in the Windows Explorer and I don't see another drive (as in partioned).

How can I remove the OS from startup so the computer will start and go to the desktop without having to pick a system every time?
