USB 1.1 with Win98SE

Using Win98SE on an old Deminsion L433c.  It has USB1.1 (I think that's the version, I know it's 1.something).  I recently bought a Digital Camera that uses USB2.0.  Question, is USB2.0 backward compatible with USB1.x?  The camera is Kodak and I don't want to load their software and screw things up if I find out there's no compatibility between the two.

Thanks!

USB 2.0 devices are backward compatible with 1.1 - will just operte at the slower 1.1 transmission speed. If you have a free PCI slot, why not just add a 2.0 USB card?

Thanks!  Good suggestion on the PCI USB2.0 card, think I'll do that.  Coming out of the camera the pics are in the 248-275K range so even 1.1 shouldn't be toooooooo bad though!  Again, thanks.

Howdy!  Guess what!  I'm retired now, got a Class C motorhome and the wife and I are on the road almost all the time.  That's the reason for the USB question.  I'm trying to off-load some stuff at my son's house...  In the rig I have a Dell Laptop now and it works great.  I'm getting ready to couple it with a MOTOSAT/Datastorm system (uses the Hughes satellites) and a Linksys WAP11 (or similiar) wireless router so I have access REGARDLESS OF WHERE I'm AT!

Can't wait.  In the meantime I'm not on-line near as much as I use to be...

Once I get the Datastorm installed, and am able to get back on-line more, I also plan to keep a Blogger Log of our travels and will pass you the URL at that time...

Good to talk to you again Dan, and you take care...
