First I am very limited computer savvy!!!  And I hope I am in correct message board area for the following problem that I am going to detail. (My experience with computing is: I can get on the internet to look up what I would like, do my credit card and banking tracking, other financial tracking,  follow cell phone bills/usage etc., check local weather and news, research areas of interest for health issues, consumer buying, etc.  I like to send and receive emails.  I have come from a 1995 gateway computer with windows 95.  Very recently purchased a dell notebook.  Had a more experienced computer person help me get started. (as it turns out everything is such hightech that the computer is almost ready to go once turned on.)  This computer has Mcafee security, I have comcast (local cable tv provider) for my internet connection, and I use outlook express for email.  After I contacted the cable internet provider and they walked me through setting up my email account.  I could send and receive emails.  With the Mcafee security system there are frequent popups of recommended updates to be installed on the computer.  For the first few days I ignored them and continued about my normal computing business.  A more experienced friend said that the popups are good and just follow through with the installation.  On the first time that I did install the updated popup - my outlook email problems started and are still problematic to say the least.  I called the cable internet provider and after much dialogue and trying this and that.  It seems that mcafee security causes hiccups with outlook express email.  I can go to the cable provider website and get email, however this is a very cumbersome procedure with opening many more windows just to get,see,respond to email and then not being efficient way to manage emails for saving, deleting, etc.

I would appreciate any feedback, dialogue, etc with anyone who could make my computing much less fustrating!!
