I don't know much about computers, so i hope someone can help me.

 

One day while i was online i somehow loosened the plug which cut off the computer. When i tried to get back on, Windows XP would not load.  I tried booting in safe mode, but i got a string of messages repeated on the whole screen that i didn't understand.

 

I let it sit for awhile because i heard sometimes safemode can take awhile, but it still wouldn't load.  It won't load when i click safemode with command prompt, last known good configuration or any of the choices available.

 

So I tried booting from the CD and i get the 3 options to install/set up, repair, or quit, but once i click continue to install/set up windows XP it doesn't go past that point. I have a message at the bottom saying that is Examining 157333 MB of files...or something (don't know exact number or full message), but it doesn't do anything else.

 

I'm away from that computer right now so i don't have the exact message.

 

Does anybody know what this means or if i can fix it?

 

I would appreciate any help.
