I have a problem with my DELL XPS 15 (7590) and its external microphone. Till yesterday it worked fine. When I plugged in my external microphone, every time pop-up window appeared, where I could select the device. It looked like this:

Yesterday I decided to update the dell drivers and BIOS, so the laptop works smoother. I installed all of them, as the newest versions.

Also, I installed new versions of Audio Realtek High Definition and Waves MaxxAudioPro drivers. Since then, my laptop doesn’t see the external microphone.

And no pop-up windows appear when I plug it out and in. Of course, I have the option to show it selected in MaxxAudioPro.

Other audio settings also look good, windows updates are installed, and the microphone has access to all the applications:

The only way to make my laptop see a new plugged-in device is to uninstall Audio Realtek High Definition. Then it recognizes it but assumes it is a headset (output sound device), not a microphone (input sound device). And I cannot change it using Waves MaxxAudioPro, as it only works (or should) with Audio Realtek High Definition.

I tried to install older versions of both Audio Realtek High Definition and Waves MaxxAudioPro, thinking the problem could be also with the newest available drivers, but it didn't help.

Also, a few times I tries to reinstall all the other drivers, including BIOS. No results. Please tell me how can I solve the problem, so I can use my external microphone again.
