Thunderbolt port not recognizing card/data
Hi,
I am running W 10 on an XPS 15" 9560, I have for the first time, a device which comes with a cable to fit a USB C port. The device is a Sony CFexpress Type B/XQD card reader (USB C), model MRW-G1, it came with 2 cables, a USB 3 to USB C (the device connection) and USB C to USB C. I would like to use the USB C port on my laptop. The USB C to USB 3 (regular USB connector) works fine, when plugged in the empty reader does not show in "This PC" but it does show in "Blue Tooth and Other Devices". When plugged in to the PC and when removing from the PC using the USB C to USB 3 the laptop makes a tone indicating the presence and absence of the device is known. When the reader with the USB C to USB C cable is plugged into and removed from the laptop the same thing happens also indicating that the reader is recognized but it does not show in "Blue Tooth and Other Devices" as with the other cable. When I put an active (w/data) card in the reader using the USB C to C nothing happens, it does not show in "This PC" or in "Blue Tooth and Other Devices" and it does not recognize the card/data. When I put an active card in the reader connected by the USB C to USB 3 it comes up visible in "This PC" and the data is accessible. Is this a Thunderbolt port/driver problem? Has anyone had similar issues?
Thanks
